G.K.sealants was set up in 1989 by partners Michael Gunson and Stephen King in order to provide a cost effective pointing service to the building industry. ranging from the small construction company to the house builder.

The initial scope of works was to carry out simple and effective weather pointing to external frames to building structure and the internal sanitary and wet room seals to tiled areas, thus servicing the needs of the local and regional building trades at that time.

G.K.sealants now established and recognised as a professional joint sealant applicator throughout the north west of England expanded, and as we did so we offered our services to a wider area of the country which in turn saw GKS operating nationwide.

G.K sealants continued to carry out jointing works for local civil engineering and construction companies in the early nineties carrying out sealant projects for Balfour Beatty, John Mowlem PLC and Askam Construction Ltd to name but a few, the projects included a new cinema, office complex, DIY store, apartment blocks and local housing, underground water reservoirs, potable water schemes, sewage tanks and cake beds using DWI approved and non-biodegradable sealants as specified for the water industry.

GKS later became involved in the supply and application of structural and weather sealants within the industrial steel frame, glazing, curtain walling and planar glazing industry, this saw us operating on much larger projects throughout the midlands, and as our experience grew in this sector we secured the pointing needs of some of the top players in the industry like Crittall Windows Ltd the steel frame specialist, Parry Bowen, Spec-Al Design and Bridgetown Developments.

Most recently our experience in secure grade anti-pick sealants have been utilised by G4S (the largest security services company in the UK) to point cell blocks in secure court areas, prisons, personal detention areas and police stations.
